Two family members of Virginia Giuffre, who was one of Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking victims, slammed Rep. Jeff Crank (R-CO) on Monday for previously voting to “cover up” the Epstein files in Congress.
Giuffre’s brother, Sky Roberts, and her sister-in-law, Amanda Roberts, targeted Crank in a new ad released by Jessica Killin, who is running to replace the Republican congressman.
“Our own congressman, Jeff Crank, refused to meet with us,” Amanda Roberts said. “Then, when he had the chance to expose the truth and release the Epstein files, he repeatedly voted to cover them up.”
“Virginia deserved better,” Sky Roberts added. “Jeff Crank covered up Epstein’s crimes to protect Donald Trump. He has no business being in Congress.”
Giuffre died by suicide in April 2025 after years of speaking out against Epstein’s crimes, which played a role in exposing the late financier’s sex trafficking ring. Since Giuffre’s death, her family members have been speaking on her behalf.
Hours after the ad was released, the husband-and-wife duo held a press conference to endorse Killin for Congress.
“Today, Congressman Crank still hasn’t reached out to us. He still hasn’t signed the second discharge petition to release the files,” Sky Roberts said, referencing the discharge petition that Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) announced last month.
“But one person did reach out: Jessica Killin,” he continued. “She sat at our table. She listened. She felt our grief and our anger, and she also saw our hope.”
Crank is seeking a second term as representative of Colorado’s 5th Congressional District, while Killin hopes to disrupt his reelection plans. The latest poll, which was sponsored by Killin, shows Crank with a 1-point lead over the Democratic challenger. But Killin has hope she can beat the incumbent after Sabato’s Crystal Ball moved the race from “Likely Republican” to “Lean Republican” in September.
Now she is running with the support of a high-profile Epstein victim’s relatives.
“Whatever side of the aisle you’re on, this is about whether we believe the people we love when they finally find the courage to speak,” Sky Roberts said in making his case for supporting Crank’s opponent. “Jessica Killin chose to listen. I’m proud to stand with her, and I hope to call her my representative.”
President Donald Trump has endorsed Crank for reelection, so Killin’s campaign may try to tie the Trump-backed candidate to his legislative record on the Epstein files before the midterm elections.
Last year, Crank declined to sign the first discharge petition that forced a floor vote on the release of the Epstein files and voted to block consideration of the Epstein Files Transparency Act. However, he did end up voting to approve the bill after Trump urged House Republicans to pass the measure. Crank is not one of the four Republicans who have signed the second discharge petition.
“It is deeply unfortunate that Washington lobbyist Jessica Killin is preying on a grieving family with the help of the Washington Democrats,” a spokesperson for Crank told the New York Times.

Killin criticized Crank’s staff after Washington Examiner congressional reporter Lauren Green obtained text messages showing the congressman’s office laughing at a meeting request made by Sky and Amanda Roberts last year.
“This is no way to treat your constituents,” Killin said, “let alone the family of an Epstein survivor.”
