Technocracy 101: The Technate Dictatorship Coming Soon to a Continent Near You

Recently I downloaded and read the original plans of Technocracy Inc. in the Technocracy Study Course (1945).[1] What I found was not a dusty historical curiosity. It was a clear, detailed blueprint for replacing elected government across an entire continent with a permanent technical hierarchy that answers to no one outside its own ranks. The authors stated their contempt for democracy, individual rights, and ordinary political consent. They designed a system in which a small group of appointed experts would measure every unit of energy, distribute every good and service, and leave the public with certificates instead of votes. The structure they described is no longer theoretical. It is presently being assembled under different names with tools the designers could only imagine.

On the first page of The Technocracy Study Course we find their stated goal:

Technocracy finds that the production and distribution of an abundance of physical wealth on a Continental scale for the use of all Continental citizens can only be accomplished by a Continental technological control, a governance of function, a Technate.

The Technate Was Always a Planned Dictatorship by Experts Who Thought They Knew Better

In the 1930s, during the Great Depression, scientists, engineers, and technicians organized under Technocracy Inc. produced the Technocracy Study Course. Their message was blunt. The “Price System” of money, markets, debt, and elected politicians could not manage modern industrial society. Technology had made abundance possible, but politics and business produced only waste, scarcity, and chaos. The solution they proposed was a continental Technate covering North America, run entirely by technical experts.

Presently their plan from the 1930s is spreading worldwide and being implemented in regions that can ultimately be linked into a single digital system of control and order. They have systematically assembled the pieces of their design since their inception in the 1930s. Many technocrats of both the past and the present have been members of the Trilateral Commission. Founded by David Rockefeller and Zbigniew Brzezinski in 1973, the Trilateral Commission had the specific purpose of creating a “New International Economic Order,” also known as a New Economic World Order. [2]

Straight Out of the Hegelian Dialectic Playbook

To achieve their end goal, they first infiltrate the very governments they intend to dismantle. They then systematically disrupt economies, inflate debt, engineer food and resource shortages, provoke wars, finance rioters, sow division and hatred between races and factions, facilitate the arrival of migrants unwilling to assimilate, and install corrupt politicians. They employ many of the same methods Communists have used to seize power. In fact, the system closely resembles Communism: a small group of self-appointed elite leaders rule over the people, while everyone else receives the same limited income and the leaders live in luxury. The middle class is abolished.

Just turn on the news and you can see it playing out before your eyes in France and throughout Europe. America has always been in their sights.

The goal is to destroy public trust in elected representative government so that the Technate can be offered as the solution. This follows the classic Hegelian dialectic. An engineered antithesis of crisis and chaos is set against the existing order, the thesis. The resulting conflict clears the way for the preplanned synthesis of technocratic rule in place of representative government.

The Technocrats Rejected Democracy Outright.

The handbook stated that “all philosophic concepts of human equality, democracy, and political economy have upon examination been found totally lacking and unable to contribute any factors of design for a Continental technological control.” Elected representative government was dismissed as incompetent, full of “glad-handing and baby-kissing” politicians and machines like Tammany. Tammany Hall was the powerful Democratic political machine that controlled New York City politics for much of the 19th and early 20th centuries, using patronage, favors, and vote-getting to stay in power. It became synonymous with urban political corruption, especially under Boss Tweed, who stole millions from the city. The Technocrats believed that unelected technical bureaus worked better because their staffs were not elected by popular vote or appointed by political chieftains. They used political corruption, which we have always had and disliked, as the excuse for technocrats, the self-appointed experts, to rule and reign supreme over the rest of us peons.

Leadership by Appointment Only, With No Path for Ordinary People

Jobs and promotions went to people chosen by those already familiar with the technical requirements. Sequence Directors (heads of transportation, agriculture, health, industry, and other sectors) were nominated by the officers just below them and then appointed by the Continental Control. That Control, roughly 100 technical directors, then chose one of its own members as Continental Director, the top executive. He could be recalled only by a two-thirds vote of that same small group. Ordinary people, us peons, were to receive Energy Certificates to claim goods and services. They had no vote, no say in who ran anything, and no power to reverse major decisions. The handbook called this a “governance of function” or “government of function.” In practice it was a self-perpetuating technical hierarchy that held complete authority, in other words a dictatorship.

Energy Certificates Replaced Money and Rights

Goods would be measured and distributed by energy units, not money. After the system’s operating costs were deducted, every adult received an equal share of non-transferable, expiring Energy Certificates. These tracked consumption so production could match demand. The stated goal was high living standards, low labor hours, and minimal waste, managed by the experts who “understood” the machinery. The common man was a consumer and a functionary, not a citizen with political rights.

Doesn’t this sound like Elon Musk’s proposed Universal High Income (UHI) once AI takes over most jobs?

The Same Design Is Being Assembled Today Under New Labels

That vision never disappeared. It is being assembled piece by piece under different names. Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals push the same themes the Technocrats stressed: energy efficiency, resource measurement, sustainable consumption, expert planning, and continuous data collection. Modern systems add the surveillance and digital tools the 1930s designers could only imagine. Cameras, sensors, smart meters, satellites, AI analysis, and location tracking create continuous monitoring that makes real-time energy and consumption accounting practical.

Technocrat Billionaire Larry Ellison of Oracle said:

“Citizens will be on their best behavior, because we’re constantly recording and reporting everything that is going on.”

When every movement, purchase, and energy use is recorded, compliance becomes the path of least resistance. Taken together, this explains why they are pushing for more AI data centers. Without the data centers they cannot store the vast surveillance information required for their plan of total control over the population and the world’s resources. While ordinary people will be restricted in travel and energy consumption and herded into digitally controlled smart cities, the technocrats will continue to fly around the world in their jets and live as kings in mansions. Remember their mantra: You will own nothing and be happy.

Digital Currency Is the Final Piece That Makes the Old Plan Operational

The linchpin is digital currency. Programmable digital currencies like Stablecoins and CBDC’s, blockchain-based systems, and related digital payment rails can do what paper Energy Certificates were meant to do, and more. They can be tied to identity, expire, restrict categories of spending, track energy or carbon use in real time, and be throttled or frozen according to policy.

Smart meters and IoT (Internet of Things) devices feed consumption data into the same networks. Combined with surveillance, they create a closed loop: measure energy and behavior, distribute or restrict access digitally, and enforce “best behavior” without needing traditional political consent. The 1930s Technocrats wanted energy accounting and technical control instead of money and elections. Today’s AI digital systems supply the measurement, the distribution mechanism, and the enforcement tools in one package.

We Are Handing Total Power to Narcissists Who Think Competence Makes Them gods

The original Technate was never a neutral engineering project. It was a deliberate replacement of elected government by a small group of self-selected technical experts who believed they alone were competent to run society. Ordinary people were to have no political control. The language has changed. Sustainability, efficiency, smart grids, and digital inclusion sound softer than the 1930s phrasing. The structure is the same: measure everything, manage by experts, distribute through a controlled medium that tracks and limits, and keep the public on its best behavior under constant observation.

What is being built is the end of our Constitutional Republic, political freedom and the middle class. A class of people convinced that their technical knowledge gives them the right to decide how everyone else lives is constructing the machinery to do exactly that. They treat individual choice, property, and consent as obstacles to optimal outcomes. They design systems that cannot be voted out, recalled by the public, or escaped. Digital currency, continuous surveillance, and centralized energy accounting remove the practical ability to say no. The people advancing this are not neutral scientists solving engineering problems. They are narcissists who have decided that their intelligence entitles them to rule, and that the rest of us exist to be managed, measured, and kept in line. Freedom is being taken by design by people who believe they are smarter than the population they intend to control.
