A long list of medical organizations that have been pushing the transgender ideologies across America have been put on notice to prove the science as they “have a responsibility to explain the evidence.”
“No dodging. No vague statements. HHS is demanding medical organizations explain where they stand on sex-rejecting procedures for minors and the evidence behind their guidance. This action is the latest step in the Trump Administration’s effort to protect children from harmful sex-rejecting procedures and bring transparency and accountability to so-called ‘gender medicine’ in pediatric care,” explained an announcement from Health and Human Services.
A report at the Federalist listed the organizations as the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Psychological Association, American Psychiatric Association, American Medical Association, Endocrine Society and World Professional Association for Transgender Health.
The report said, “America’s leading medical and psychological organizations have insisted that so-called ‘gender-affirming care’ for minors is medically necessary, evidence-based, and even lifesaving. Questioning these claims could get you labeled a bigot, accused of harming children, or professionally ostracized.
“Now, they are being pressed to put their money where their mouth is.”
Actually, following the science reveals that transgenderism is a scientific impossibility, as being male or female is embedded in the human body down to the DNA level and does not change, no matter the application of chemicals or disfiguring surgeries.
HHS is demanding that the groups state their position on those “interventions for minors, identify any planned revisions, and say when they will happen.”
HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said HHS also wants to see the evidence, as the groups “have a responsibility to explain the evidence behind those standards.”
The federal department said it first wrote to the groups last year, but has seen a lack of responses.
The reported noted the most significant component is the direct challenge to the “American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.”
The letter to that group points out the DSM “has not been updated to reflect the current evidence on the harms of pediatric medical transition. It demands that the association identify potential revisions or corrections to the manual and provide a timeline for those changes.”
The report pointed out that “other medical organizations” already are beginning to admit the uncertainty that activists and professional associations have spent years dismissing.
For instance, months ago, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons issued an updated position statement, acknowledging the low quality of available evidence and recommending that surgeons delay gender-related breast/chest, genital and facial surgery until patients are at least 19, the report noted.
