The Daily Signal is adding journalist Reagan Reese to its growing team of reporters as it expands its coverage of Washington, national politics, and the 2028 presidential campaign.

Reese, who spent more than four years at the Daily Caller, joins the Daily Signal today as national political reporter. In her new role, she will cover national politics, campaigns, elections, and public policy debates.

“Reagan has a proven ability to break news, develop sources, and find stories that others miss,” said Katrina Trinko, editor-in-chief of the Daily Signal. “She’s exactly the kind of reporter we want at the Daily Signal: relentless, curious, and committed to giving readers original reporting they can’t get anywhere else. We’re thrilled to welcome her to the team.”

Reese announced the move recently on X, saying she was excited about what lies ahead at the Daily Signal.

“I can’t wait to work with the talented team at the Signal,” Reese said. “They have a great mission and vision for the future. We have some exciting projects planned and we’re going to break a lot of news.”

Today is my last day at the @DailyCaller. It has been an incredible 4.5 years. The company has given me great memories, lifelong friends, annual football games, karaoke nights, beer league softball championships and, of course, it's where I met my fiancé.

While covering the White House for the Caller, Reese interviewed President Donald Trump and regularly questioned the president and press secretary Karoline Leavitt in the briefing room. In 2025, Mediaite named her to its list of the top 75 newsmakers.

In announcing Reese’s hiring internally, Daily Signal Managing Editor Keith Koffler highlighted her “long record of doing scoops and exclusive reporting” and said she would also help cover the Daily Signal’s major editorial priorities for the coming year.

Reese’s role will extend beyond campaign coverage. She plans to continue producing stories with behind-the-scenes insights from Washington, D.C., interview newsmakers, and travel to major political events.

In her farewell announcement, Reese credited her Daily Caller colleagues Geoffrey Ingersoll and Vince Coglianese for serving as mentors.

“The company has given me great memories, lifelong friends, annual football games, karaoke nights, beer league softball championships and, of course, it’s where I met my fiancé,” Reese said.

Now, she said, she is ready for the next chapter.

Reese is a graduate of Hillsdale College, where she studied rhetoric and media, minored in journalism, and played softball. A two-year team captain, she helped Hillsdale win two conference championships. She began her professional career covering K-12 education for the Daily Caller News Foundation before moving to the White House beat.
