As of 7:15 AM Monday October 19, 2026 (Iran time, Day 234), the Strait of Hormuz remains effectively closed amid the war’s worst week yet for shipping attacks: UKMTO said at least 10 vessels were attacked in or near the Strait in the seven days through Saturday (Oct 17), the most in any week since the war began, and at least 23 since the start of October — roughly double the monthly average, while separately reporting late Friday that at least 12 ships were attacked in the week ending Oct 16 and cautioning it is “struggling to accurately report true number of attacks” because most vessels attacked decline to report (UKMTO/Al Jazeera/CBS News, Oct 16-18).

AND WHY ISN’T THIS EVER MENTIONED ANYWHERE? YOU COULD SELECT YOUR OWN LIGHTBULBS BECAUSE OF THE CLIMATE, BUT NOW WE CAN JUST ENDLESSLY DUMP AS MUCH OIL AS POSSIBLE INTO A TINY SLIVER OF A GULF FOR MONTHS ON END, WITH NO REAL KNOWLEDGE OF HOW MANY OR HOW MUCH BECAUSE WHAT, EXACTLY?
