With an $80 million investment, Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America has reached over 10 million voters to remind them of the cost of this election: Life is on the ballot.

SBA, one of the largest pro-life organizations in the country, worked to reach American voters this midterm election cycle in an attempt to bring out the pro-life vote. Through polling, the group found early on that 32% of Republican voters said they would be less enthusiastic about voting if GOP leaders abandoned pro-life policies.

“We’re finding the pro-life GOP base is dismayed that abortions are going up in this country,” Kelsey Pritchard, communications director for SBA, told the Daily Signal. “They’re dismayed that Joe Biden’s mail-order abortion policy has been left in place by the current administration.”

“We’ve found with Republicans not bringing the issue to the forefront, it has been difficult to mobilize life voters,” she continued.

According to Pritchard, the group’s national field director saw “reactive enthusiasm” when communicating Democrat extremism on abortion—such as advocating abortion up until birth—to voters.

“That is motivating people, pro-lifers. It’s motivating people in the middle as well to show up to vote and vote for the Republican pro-life candidate,” she said. “But the problem is, is we’re seeing less positive enthusiasm toward the Republicans who haven’t been communicating and demonstrating their own pro-life positions.”

Pritchard, however, assured that Democratic extremism was a successful messaging platform.

“If you vote for this Democrat candidate, they are for abortion that is late-term abortion—in the seventh, eighth, ninth months of pregnancy even. And we’re bringing to light the fact that Democrats now, as a whole, don’t support born-alive protection,” she said.

Regarding SBA’s midterm strategy, Pritchard said the group had state directors across the country in Iowa, Georgia, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Texas. It focused on key Senate races, governor races like Iowa and Wisconsin, and even House races like North Carolina’s 1st District.

Like many super PACs, the group started early with a broad plan and made adjustments along the way, based on polling. Most recently, SBA amped up more in Texas for the Senate race and multiple House races.

Pritchard said SBA has spent resources on offense and defense. “We’ve endorsed a lot of different pro-life candidates. I think it’s ended up being more about calling out the Democrats and their extremism, and you can see that in our ads,” she said.

“We’re doing all we can, but we continue to remind the GOP that it’s not only the right thing to do to stand for life, it’s the politically smart thing to do, and that the pro-life voters are important to the GOP base in this election and in every election.”
