Parents as tyrants? New education buzzword said to move beyond DEI

A warning is being issued to parents about a new education scheme, a buzzword, that moves beyond DEI or CRT.

The “diversity, equity and inclusion” agenda already used for years seeks to label whites as bad and provide “equity” or equal results, to all students. Critical Race Theory simply teaches children to be racist.

And inclusion seeks to normalize lifestyle oddities like the choices made by the LGBT community, especially transgenderism, which Joe Biden pushed for the entirety of his tenure in the White House.

A report at Fox News explains it is Marissa Streit of the highly respected online PragerU that now is warning about “adultism.”

That, she charges, is being used to push Marxism in American classrooms.

It’s used in radical education agendas about “ethnic studies” and its goal is to undermine parental authority and drive a wedge between parents and their children.

Already, multiple schools deliberately have adopted schemes to harm the family structure by pushing children into transgender ideologies and then putting in place formal rules that deprive the parents of knowledge about those actions.

She pointed out “ethnic studies” already in in the works in dozens of states, and the programs blast parents with the negative term “adultism.”

Streit charges its new use is to portray standard parenting rules as a form of “fascism.”

Be on alert for ethnic studies curriculum that uses the word “adultism”. In some teacher training courses, it’s being used to paint parents and adults as tyrants for setting boundaries for children. That’s not liberty; that’s an attack on parental authority. Parents, not the… pic.twitter.com/gInFPq2MnP

A growing “ethnic studies” push in American classrooms is teaching students that ordinary parenting amounts to oppression, PragerU CEO Marissa Streit warned in a recent interview. She said the curriculum leans heavily on the term “adultism,” a concept that originated in sociology…

Streit cited a teacher training manual called “Lessons In Liberation: An Abolitionist Toolkit for Educators,” which she says promotes anti-capitalism, Critical Race Theory and the rejection of adult authority, hallmarks of Marxism.

Textbook’s publisher AK Press states the book is a toolkit that “shines a light on innovative abolitionist projects, particularly in Pre-K–12 learning contexts.”

Streit argues it simply repackages DEI, CRT, “social-emotional learning” and more in pursuit of Marxism.

“[Ethnic studies] teaches the teacher to tell the student that the term adultism is a negative thing,” Streit told Fox News Digital. “When an adult is behaving like an adult by telling their child that the child should not dress a certain way or have sex at an early age or even request sex or gender changes … the parent is engaging in adultism.”

Already, the San Francisco Chronicle has pointed out the controversy developing for schools promoting “adultism as a form of oppression.”

It cited claims that the power dynamics in schools relationships there are “oppressive.”

On the side of indoctrination, she pointed out, are teachers’ unions, which have fought parental notification policies.

And she pointed out undermining parental authority is just a part of the politics of the Marxist Democrat Socials of America, to which several politicians who recently have gained significant power have pledged allegiance.

The goal, Streit said, is to “radically transform America,” with agendas to eliminate the Supreme Court, the U.S. Senate, the presidency and more.

She explained the typical sales pitch of socialists: They create an entire “chaotic environment … where the individual feels helpless,” then offer a new form of government and demand “trust us.”
