‘My Botox Hasn’t Caught Up’: Boebert Explains Her Way Out Of Awkward Interview Moment

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) is no stranger to fueling headlines with her brash rhetoric and behavior.

But when her face seemed to partially freeze up during a recent interview, the GOP lawmaker didn’t wait for the media speculation.

As the New York Post reported, she immediately explained what was going on:

“I don’t want to be on camera this week, and I’ve been on camera more than any other week,” Boebert revealed — pointing at her partially paralyzed bottom lip.

“I am talking out of the side of my mouth like a damn politician, ’cause my Botox hasn’t caught up on this side. Maybe in two days, this side will catch up to the other side, but here we are,” she admitted in the video footage.

The beauty blunder unfolded after Boebert said she missed a vote for the sweeping annual defense policy bill because unnamed GOP staffers lied to her.

She insisted she’d objected to a “tech swap” between the US and Israel and wanted that section removed from the bill.

Her candid comment attracted some social media attention:

More on X:

So to get this clear.
Your staffers "apparently" lied to you, and all you could offer was a dismissive, vain, insecure clarifying defense for your Botox treatment.

It's so refreshing to see you have your priorities in order.

"Politics aside, that's definitely an unexpected headline

And here’s how she responded:

“Recovering” seems strong.
“Awaiting settlement” may be more accurate.

Also…let’s get the dang NDAA right before it’s signed into law! https://t.co/33FVPRSgrj

Others paid more attention to the legislative substance of her remarks:

Why were you in the back, waiting for someone to tell you it's time to vote?

You should have been wherever you needed to be to cast your vote!
Not talking to someone in the back.

As initially reported by TMZ:

Jacob caught up with the Colorado Congresswoman Wednesday evening after she missed a vote on the National Defense Authorization Act — the annual defense policy bill — and she claims unnamed GOP staffers lied to her.

LB says she objected to a “tech swap” between the U.S. and Israel and wanted the provision stripped from the bill. She claims she was still negotiating as voting continued and Republican staffers told her they’d keep the vote open for her.

That didn’t happen. The vote closed, the bill passed — and Boebert says she was left out in the cold.
