Iran long has been documented as the most significant sponsor of terrorism worldwide. Millions of dollars that Barack Obama hand-delivered to the rogue Islamic regime back in his day likely ended up funding violence against the innocent.
Now the nation’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian, has come to New York to address the United Nations General Assembly, and not only has gotten booed in the hallowed halls of the organization, but the U.S. delegation walked out.
A report at Fox confirms Pezeshkian was “met with immediate hostility” when he started speaking.
“As the emcee announced Pezeshkian’s impending speech, audible boos erupted from the ‘Free Iran’ rally crowd. The tension in the room escalated further once Pezeshkian began speaking, which included the U.S. delegation walking out on his speech,” the report explained.
He took the podium to claim, “The U.S. president described us as terrorists: We have been the victims of terrorism.” He said Iran had “only defended ourselves.”
Iran repeatedly has stated its agenda to obtain nuclear weapons in order to wipe Israel off the map, and the military action against Iran over the past six months or so has been part of President Donald Trump’s agenda to assure the world that the regime will not obtain those weapons.
According to the Washington Examiner, Iran now is “casting itself as an unwilling martyr against the ‘chaos of power’ playing out in the Middle East.”
Iran’s chief displayed photographs of children he claimed were killed in America’s Operation Epic Fury, and insisted his nation is a “victim of terrorism” that has “committed no crimes.”
“Iran has never, ever been an aggressor, has never started a war, and has always shown her commitment to the negotiating table,” he claimed.
He also took aim at Israel, “decrying the widely accepted intelligence assessments that the Jewish state maintains a nuclear arsenal despite not having signed on to international treaties to limit proliferation,” the report said.
“Atomic and nuclear bombs are in the hands of the Israeli regime, but the inspectors are requested to come to the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he alleged.
Israel actually neither confirms nor denies the presence of nuclear weapons.
Pezeshkian claimed Iran is interested only in nuclear power, not nuclear weapons, despite its repeated insistence that Israel cease to exist.
He also raised the issue of the terrorism by his proxy, Hamas, in Gaza.
“Palestine remains an open wound on the conscience of the international community,” he said. “Our regional issues must be resolved in the region — at the hands of the countries in the region — without [becoming] a toy in the hands of outside aggressors.”
He promised, “We will never bow our heads or bend our knees. We are ready for dialogue, diplomacy, and negotiations but will never accept the language of force.”
Trump spoke just hours earlier at the U.N., when the Iran delegation walked out.
He had threatened driving Iran “into hell with no chance of survival and no hope of future greatness for generations,” but then hours later White House negotiators were engaged in talks.
Trump had said, “I have a big decision to make. Will a deal be made with Iran that lets them rebuild and create a far greater country than it ever was before, maybe one of the greatest in the Middle East or even the world? Or do I annihilate the Islamic Republic and do it quickly, never giving them a chance to kill and destroy people and countries again?”
