A report posted by Fox said the president was speaking to members of the media on the South Lawn on Friday when he revealed his advice.

“Maybe it’s not for her,” he president said.

The report described her week-long tenure as “already marked by mounting scrutiny over her legal credentials and a rocky debut before the White House press corps on Tuesday. Critics have taken aim at Zacharia over her recent interviews attempting to recover from the bumpy start.”

Trump confirmed he was not firing her, explaining, “No no. I want her to have a good life. She’s been brutalized by the media.”

The report said a “senior White House official” said she was “transitioning out” of the role.

She was appointed to the role Oct. 9 and took over the White House podium just days later.

Controversy immediately was created over the demands from the media whether she could refer to herself as an attorney. Zacharia admitted she had pre-registered for the bar exam after her graduation from college, and sat for it because she didn’t want to have a withdraw status.

But she said her plans at the time were to move to China, and she wouldn’t need that status there.

She later told Sean Hannity, about her news conference where she took three questions, “What I feel is I really stepped up to the plate with very little prep time. Given the fact that I’d been on the job less than maybe eight hours and had a briefing book in the morning, I feel like I did my very best, Sean, to deliver for the American people that day.”

She had a couple of verbal stumbles during her time in office, feeding reporters’ frenzy about her.

Zacharia had been senior communications adviser to Trump Media & Technology Group, which operates the president’s social media platform, Truth Social.
