A shooting occurred at the headquarters for Virginia’s Republican Party, and a manhunt is now underway to find the assailant.

One woman was shot outside of the building in Richmond and was swiftly taken inside and treated by first responders. No injuries among the on-site staff were reported.

“Around 1:45 p.m. today, a woman was shot immediately in front of The Obenshain Center, the offices of the Republican Party of Virginia,” the Republican Party of Virginia said in a statement. “City of Richmond first responders were at the scene within minutes. All Republican Party of Virginia staff are safe. The proximity of this event notwithstanding, we have no indication that the shooting was related to the operations of the Republican Party of Virginia.”

RPV Chairman Jeff Ryer said he does not believe the shooting has anything to do with the company.

Blood can be seen at the site of the headquarters, according to WRIR.

This is a breaking news story and will be updated.
