Major Networks, Including Fox News, Band Together to BOYCOTT Press Pool Coverage in Solidarity With Banned Outlets

All major news networks in the White House TV press pool are now joining forces to boycott coverage of President Trump.

Those include ABC, CBS, NBC, and, yes, even Fox News.

The act is meant to show ‘solidarity’ for the three fake news outlets that President Trump banned on Friday: namely, CNN, Politico, and MSNOW.

In a joint statement released on Monday, these four networks said that they will not be covering President Trump at the White House due to the ban.

These news outlets appear to believe that President Trump will be forced to reinstate press passes if they all drop out.

(We’ll see how that works out for them…)

Their move comes as CNN, Politico, and MSNOW have also announced a lawsuit, alleging violations of the First Amendment.

The Washington Post shared a statement from Fox News’ Bryan Boughton, who is the chair of the TV pool, on the reason for the boycott:

Soon after the lawsuit was announced, ABC, CBS, Fox News and NBC said they would halt TV coverage of presidential events, according to a memo obtained by The Washington Post, over the White House’s ban of CNN, which is one of the five members the White House television pool.

“This is to advise that, effective today, the TV pool will not be covering events designated as pool coverage of the President,” Bryan Boughton, the Fox News Washington bureau chief and chair of the TV pool, wrote in a memo to the White House press corps that was obtained by The Post. “ … There will be no replacement pool put in place. All other pool coverage will continue as normal, including Congress, VIPs, and selected events in Washington and around the country.”

This comes after the 3 impacted outlets SUED Trump in court, demanding a restoration on 1st Amendment grounds

The networks believe that totally boycotting POTUS coverage will make him reinstate CNN, MSNOW and Politico

Normally, a TV crew follows Trump around and provides footage to basically every network. That will not be the case, effective immediately

During White House events, President Trump is typically followed around by a television crew from one of the five TV press pool networks, who then distribute footage to all other networks.

Prior to Friday’s ban, CNN was supposed to provide that crew today.

But, due to the boycott, the press pool has refused to send out a replacement crew.

As a result, there were some technical difficulties during live coverage of President Trump cutting the ribbon at the new White House helipad this afternoon.

While the establishment media’s boycott may cause some minor hiccups for White House coverage, this is almost guaranteed to backfire on them spectacularly.

With ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, and Fox News willingly stepping out of the picture, it only gives other, smaller media outlets a chance to step up to the plate!

It’s pretty hilarious when you think about it.

The legacy media is actively making itself irrelevant — all so that they can “stick it” to President Trump.

But, perhaps that was his goal all along…
