The juror whose vote kept Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial from reaching a verdict has spoken on camera, asking the public to remember the three children at the center of the case.
Michael P. Desronvil was the lone holdout after 11 other jurors reportedly favored finding the former Massachusetts nurse not criminally responsible for the deaths of her children. Their deadlock led a judge to declare a mistrial on Sept. 4. In a video aired Monday on Fox News’ “Hannity,” Desronvil addressed the attention his decision has drawn.
“I know the whole focus has been on me, but we want to reel everything back and put the focus on the three angels that’s at hand,” Desronvil said. “The ones that can’t speak for themselves, the ones that can’t defend themselves, and the ones that can’t fight the battles. Those are Cora, Dawson, and Callan.”
“I want to thank God for my Catholic faith. I want to thank God for blessing me with the ability to love my daughter. And I’m foremost, I would like to thank everyone, every individual that has supported me throughout this difficult situation.”
He finished, “Your prayers, your emotional support, your psychological support is tremendous to my heart that I feel, that I sense, that I know. I do want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you.”

The video represents Desronvil’s clearest attempt yet to address the controversy that followed the mistrial. Until now, attorney Edward Paltzik had largely served as his public voice as several fellow jurors spoke out about what happened behind closed doors. Desronvil has pushed back on claims that he disregarded the law or maintained his position despite uncertainty about the prosecution’s case.
Clancy was charged in the January 2023 deaths of her three children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan, inside the family’s Duxbury home. The former labor and delivery nurse ultimately went on trial for murder, with much of the case hinging on her mental state and whether she could be held criminally responsible for the killings.
Prosecutors portrayed the deaths as deliberate, arguing that Clancy planned her actions and knew what she was doing was wrong. Her attorneys presented a sharply different case, arguing that she was experiencing postpartum psychosis and should be found not guilty by reason of insanity. Weeks of testimony and days of deliberations failed to produce a unanimous decision.
What happened inside the jury room has since generated a separate legal battle. Clancy attorney Kevin Reddington has called for an investigation into accusations surrounding Desronvil’s behavior during deliberations. Desronvil and Paltzik have firmly disputed those claims. Meanwhile, Clancy’s defense team has asked the court to dismiss the charges as questions continue to hang over whether prosecutors will take the case to trial again.
Rather than using his Monday video to relitigate the evidence or directly rebut each allegation made by his fellow jurors, Desronvil largely avoided the growing feud. He briefly acknowledged those who have supported him before shifting the attention back to the three children at the center of the case.
Cora, Dawson and Callan were why 12 jurors entered the Plymouth courtroom in the first place. More than three years after the children died, their mother’s case remains without a verdict and its next chapter is still uncertain.
