Convicted killer Karmelo Anthony just lost his bid for a new trial in the Austin Metcalf murder case.

This wasn’t just an appeal. Karmelo Anthony’s attorneys were asking the court to hold an entire new trial, alleging that his rights were violated.

But, on Saturday, Texas Judge Michael Chitty denied the ridiculous request.

Here are the details:

JUST IN: Karmelo Anthony loses his bid for a new trial, keeping his murder conviction and 35-year prison sentence in place.

A Texas judge rejects the 19-year-old’s challenge after two days of testimony over courtroom restrictions, hearings held without Anthony present and a disputed unwritten agreement between his former lawyers and prosecutors.

Anthony was convicted in June of stabbing and killing 17-year-old Austin Metcalf during an altercation at a Frisco track meet.

His legal fight now moves forward on direct appeal.

Judge Chitty heard two days of testimony after the judge who presided over Anthony’s original trial, Judge John Roach, was removed from the case.

During Thursday’s testimony, we learned something very interesting.

It was revealed that there was a private, off-record agreement to keep some character evidence about both Karmelo Anthony and Austin Metcalf away from the jury.

This included hiding some incredibly disturbing, violent text messages sent by Karmelo Anthony.

Benny Johnson noted:

JUST IN: Texas Judge Just DENIED Karmelo Anthony a New Trial for the Murder of Austin Metcalf.

The Anthony family requested a new trial because there was no black jurors.

In the hearings recent text messages exposed Anthony’s dark side saying he wanted to “stab” someone and “lick the blade”

This was the obviously the right move.

No amount of crying “racism” can deny justice. The Metcalf family has been through enough.

The New York Post shared more troubling details that are just now coming to light:

Karmelo Anthony talked about shooting up his school in a trove of disturbing texts that a backroom deal kept out of the courtroom during his June murder trial, prosecutors said on Friday.

“”imma shoot the school up tmr,” Anthony wrote in a 2023 text that prosecutors revealed in Collin County, Texas, during a hearing to determine if Austin Metcalf’s convicted killer will be granted a new trial, according to WFAA.

More threatening texts, reports of stalking by an ex-girlfriend, and Anthony’s violent tendencies were also apparently swept under the rug.

But as part of what was described as a “gentleman’s agreement” between the defense and prosecution, skeletons in victim Austin Metcalf’s closet also weren’t brought up, including a juvenile criminal history involving racist graffiti, prosecutors said.

The deal was “keep things clean,” prosecutor Bill Wirskye said from the stand as Anthony’s new attorney Russell Wilson grilled him about the alleged “shadow docket” Wilson claims corrupted the June proceedings.

But that same agreement kept a mountain of shocking evidence from seeing the light of day, including texts from Anthony threatening violence and a photo of a knife sent to his ex-girlfriend — who told a vice principal that he was stalking her hours before the fatal stabbing, WFAA and other local outlets reported prosecutors saying.

None of that was shown to the jury in the June trial in which he was found guilty of first-degree murder and sentence to 35 years in prison.

Fox News covered the judge’s decision further in this clip:
