‘It is an oath to our country’: Democratic Socialists, if elected, to be confronted with … the Constitution

There are a number of Democrat Socialist political candidates running in this year’s congressional midterms.

A far-left offshoot of the already leftist Democrat Party, they have openly advocated for their version of Marxism, or communism, even if they don’t label it that.

Some have proposed extremist, in fact revolutionary, schemes like ridding the nation of the Supreme Court, or the Senate. They’ve talked about taking money from people, a lot of it. And taking ownership of entire industries. Their backgrounds include close links, if not actual support, for groups most would consider terrorist.

But any of those individuals who are elected are going to be confronted with the U.S. Constitution, according to an analysis at Fox News.

In fact, they must swear allegiance before they will be allowed to take office.

And that simple component of American elections has some wondering if there will be fallout.

The analysis explains, “Members-elect must swear an oath to uphold the Constitution before they can become full members of the House. At the beginning of a new Congress, that oath is typically taken en masse by all 435 members, led by the House speaker.”

However, there is discussion that any incoming member of Congress “can challenge another member-elect’s right to be sworn in, provided they have compiled evidence that that person would not uphold their oath.”

The result could be House-wide deliberations followed by a vote on whether that member-elect has a right to be sworn in, the analysis suggested.

The DSA platform, for starters, calls for scrapping the current U.S. Constitution and writing a new one.

Rep. Keith Self, R-Texas, suggested to Fox News Digital that he could invoke the additional questions.

“You cannot swear an oath to support and defend the Constitution while actively working to destroy it. The oath of office is not just words you say at a ceremony. It is a belief. It is an oath to our country and our fellow countrymen,” Self told Fox News Digital.

“The House has both the authority and the duty to ensure that anyone who takes that oath does so in good faith, without mental reservation or purpose of evasion. As DSA candidates and the Red-Green Alliance gain ground, we must enforce the Constitution as written or risk allowing people committed to replacing it to take seats of power under false pretenses.”

A review by the Center for Renewing America said a challenge to a member-elect’s fitness to take the oath of office can be followed by the House speaker asking them to step aside while the debate begins, the report said.

“The objecting member should place the documentary record before the House, and the House should debate whether that evidence establishes that the member-elect remains committed to destroying the constitutional order,” the center said.

Then a resolution would be brought up for a vote, establishing the newcomer’s “commitment to destroying the constitutional order.”

Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., has said such a narrative is not likely to be adopted.

The analysis noted a 1969 case before the Supreme Court said the House cannot exclude an elected candidate from being sworn in if they otherwise meet the constitutional requirements of age, residency, and U.S. citizenship.

official, published DSA positions include but are not limited to: abolishing the senate, the supreme court, and the executive branch, abolishing prisons and ICE, opening the border, and seizing most major industries

TERRIFYING: Watch These DSA Members Describe the Goals of Their Movement in Their Own Words | Mike LaChance, The Gateway Pundit A video shooting around on social media right now shows members of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), describing the goals of their movement and it tells you everything you need to know about them. In the footage, one of them after the other, describes ‘overthrowing’ the so-called ’empire’ that is the United States. These people are not Democrats. They are something far worse and much more dangerous to America. They do not want to debate policy. They want to destroy our country so that they can remake it in their own image. These people are communist revolutionaries. We highlighted a report from City Journal in June that describes the DSA’s official platform: The Democratic Socialists of America Just Adopted a Radical New Platform Earlier this month, the Democratic Socialists of America’s top leadership met for an in-person meeting of their National Political Committee (NPC), the DSA’s governing authority. The result of the meeting was “Workers Deserve More!”, a rebooted platform for the organization featuring a host of radical proposals. The document commits DSA to scrapping the U.S. Senate, “abolishing the carceral forces of the capitalist state,” defunding the Department of War, amnesty for all immigrants, and “replac[ing] the President and Supreme Court with an executive and judiciary chosen by and subordinate to Congress.” As more and more members seek election to local and national positions, the platform represents a clear statement of the DSA’s views. Its radicalism, therefore, gives a glimpse into how the equivalent of the DSA’s board of directors—some of whom have appeared to moderate—actually think about politics. “Workers Deserve More!” emerged from another DSA committee that spent two months grappling with and debating its language. When the NPC took up the document, its presenter urged the DSA to pass it unamended after it cleared the committee unanimously. Instead, DSA leadership added four amendments: one on “real democracy”—calling for the replacement of “the President and Supreme Court with an executive and judiciary chosen by and subordinate to Congress” —another on police and prison abolition, a provision explicitly naming Jerusalem as the capital of a Palestinian state, and a ranked-choice voting section. The NPC passed two of these four amendments unanimously, while the “real democracy” provision prevailed by a razor-thin margin. “Workers Deserve More!” has revolutionary aspirations. It aims to “win the battle for democracy, draft a new constitution, and create a democratic socialist republic.” The document makes clear that achieving this vision would require “building a new society from the ground up,” accompanied by sweeping structural changes… It would also defund the Department of War, close overseas bases, and end all economic sanctions—which would include those in states like Iran, Cuba, and Russia. The platform further endorses universal amnesty for illegal immigrants, and ending “restrictions on . . . marriage,” which would presumably entail the legalization of polygamy. These people are telling the country exactly who and what they really are. Voters had better start believing them. https://t.co/M7jh2mvJ79

Internal video of a DSA “Democratic Constitution Forum” was just uncovered by @DataRepublican, showing a member of the Marxist Unity Group caucus openly admitting they want to dismantle our Constitution and replace it with a one-house legislature modeled after the Soviet Politburo. THIS IS A COLOR REVOLUTION. First, they win congressional and local seats to build power from the inside. Then they plant seeds of hatred and declare every opposing elected leader a “fascist”. Then, they trigger riots in the streets to force a federal response. Once the President sends in the National Guard, their allies in Congress scream “tyranny” to delegitimize the entire system. It’s all designed to bait you into fighting back with violence. DO NOT TAKE THE BAIT. They are setting the stage in real time, and our only defense is to hold the line on the Constitution.

🚨
The DSA platform contains shockingly dangerous proposals to directly assault both our Constitution and our country. Court-packing is setting the bar too low for them — they want to eliminate the independent judiciary altogether by making it subservient to Congress, along with dissolving the Senate and subjugating the president, and getting rid of borders, prisons, and the military.

The DSA isn’t using the Spanbarger playbook where she pretends to be moderate and then governs like a radical. They’re shouting the quiet part out loud. The fringe left is listening — are you?
