In this episode, Antle gives his take on how the midterm elections will set Democrats up for 2028 success or failure.
“If the socialist Senate candidates like Abdul el Sayed win, that will give a lot of momentum to socialists like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,” Antle said.
With Democrats such as Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA), former Vice President Kamala Harris, and former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg already chomping at the bit to get in the race, Antle says how far left their campaigns swing could depend on who Democrats vote for in the midterm elections.
“If the socialists lose and a lot of the winning Democrats this fall are at least pretending to be centrists, that will also send a signal,” Antle said. “It will allow the Democratic establishment to say that the electability argument against socialists will still hold.”
Next in the show, Antle sits down with commentary editor Conn Carroll to discuss how the internet isn’t killing God.
“I think it has less to do with a changing of practice,” Carroll said. “But more of a change of self-identification.”
Conn said surveys show the number of Americans identifying with no religion has grown to about 30%, while the number of atheists has remained relatively stable.
“The number of atheists has stayed remarkably the same throughout that same time,” Carroll said. “You do have a lot more people who don’t identify as belonging to religion, but they still believe in God. They don’t think of themselves as atheists.”
Finally for our in-depth report, Peter Cordi breaks down the fallout from the “weird” lesbian bar dropping its mask mandate — and what it was like at the first mask-free weekend.
“The lesbian bar is facing a firestorm of allegations of bigotry, ranging from ableism to outright racism, in what has to be the most comical and unserious controversy of the year,” Cordi said.
The bar had its first mask-free Saturday this past weekend where dozens of people were seen outside without a mask, according to the New York Post. One person who spoke to the outlet even said she only came because the mask mandate had been removed.
“So here’s the thing: Mask mandates were stupid in 2020,” Cordi said. “But as stupid as they were six years ago, they’re even dumber in 2026 now that sharing this information won’t get you deplatformed.”
Cordi had received death threats after suing Rutgers University for its COVID-19 mandates, which went as far as requiring the vaccine even for those studying remotely.
