Former NFL Player Deported, ICE Confirms

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed they have deported former Indianapolis Colts linebacker Daniel Adongo.

Adongo, 37, was removed from the country on June 20 after a Justice Department immigration judge ordered his removal in March.

“Adongo was arrested multiple times by Indiana law enforcement over the past nine years for crimes including felony intimidation, battery and disorderly conduct,” ICE stated.

“He was convicted of criminal mischief with damage in 2020 and sentenced to 364 days in jail,” it continued.

Adongo was a rugby player from Kenya who signed with the Colts in 2013.

This CRIMINAL and former NFL linebacker has been DEPORTED after he broke our laws.

His most recent criminal charges fall under the Laken Riley act, a federal statute that requires the detention, without bond, of illegal aliens for certain crimes. The bill was introduced following the murder of Laken Riley by an illegal immigrant who had previously been cited for shoplifting on the University of Georgia campus in Athens, Georgia. President Trump signed the bill into law on Jan. 29, 2025.

Daniel Ogama Adongo, 37, overstayed his visa in 2016 after his NFL career ended in 2015.

“This dangerous individual was clearly a threat to the community, which is now safer since he’s been removed,” said ICE Chicago Assistant Field Office Director Douglas Thompson.

“Those who violate immigration law are held equally accountable, including former professional athletes,” Thompson added.

Fox News shared further:

Adongo came to the U.S. after he was recruited as a rugby player and played two seasons with the Colts from 2013 until 2015.

“Since Day One, DHS law enforcement has been delivering on President Trump’s promise to the American people to arrest and deport criminal illegal aliens including murderers, rapists, child sex abusers, gang members, and terrorists,” ICE said.

It added, “Nearly 70% of ICE arrests are of illegal aliens charged or convicted of a crime in the U.S. More than 3 million illegal aliens are out of the country and counting. Our message is clear: If you come to our country illegally, we will find you, we will arrest you, and we will deport you.”
