Jennifer Eckhart, a former Fox Business producer who later built a platform focused on resilience and trauma recovery, has died at the age of 36.
Eckhart was found dead Friday at her home in Martin County, Florida, according to local authorities. A spokesperson for the Martin County Sheriff’s Office said investigators believe she died by suicide.
Officials have not released further information about the circumstances surrounding her death. No public statement from Eckhart’s family had been issued as of Monday.
Before moving into independent media, Eckhart spent several years working within Fox News Media. She joined the company in 2013 and eventually became an associate producer for Fox Business Network.
Her work extended beyond producing segments behind the scenes. Eckhart appeared on Fox Business and Fox Nation programming and established herself as an on-camera media personality.
Following her departure from the company in 2020, Eckhart created “REINVENTED with Jen Eckhart,” a podcast built around conversations with people who had navigated major personal or professional challenges. The interview series featured figures from entertainment, sports and business.
Eckhart also founded The Reinvented Project, a nonprofit that promoted animal-assisted therapy as a resource for people recovering from trauma. Her work with the organization grew out of experiences she discussed publicly following the end of her time at Fox.
Eckhart became widely known in 2020 when she filed a federal lawsuit against former Fox News anchor Ed Henry. She accused Henry of sexually assaulting her while they both worked for the network.
Henry denied Eckhart’s accusations and maintained that their relationship was consensual.
Fox News fired Henry in July 2020 after the company received a complaint about alleged sexual misconduct and conducted an internal investigation.
The litigation continued for nearly five years. In March 2025, a federal judge dismissed Fox News from the case after finding that the evidence did not establish that the company knew about Henry’s alleged conduct toward Eckhart while it was occurring.
Other claims involving Henry were permitted to move forward, including allegations of assault, battery, sex trafficking, harassment and gender-motivated violence. The case was heading toward a civil trial before Eckhart and Henry reached a settlement in June 2025.
Details of the agreement were not publicly disclosed. Henry did not admit wrongdoing as part of the reported resolution.
After reaching the settlement, Eckhart told People that the legal fight had been exhausting and retraumatizing. She said she had transformed her experience into a commitment to assisting other survivors, describing that transition with the verified statement, “I turned pain into purpose.”
Eckhart continued producing her podcast and promoting survivor advocacy after the case ended. Her death remains under investigation, and authorities have not announced when additional findings may be released.
