A 21-year-old woman has been arrested in Daytona Beach, FL ahead of President Trump’s upcoming rally this evening.
Allison Albro thought it was a good idea to threaten to shoot the president in a social media post.
Hours later, she got a knock on her door from local law enforcement, who had been alerted to the situation by Secret Service.
She was arrested and is now facing serious charges.
Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood shared the threatening social media post, along with Albro’s mugshot, in a post on X:
We are not going to tolerate threats to assassinate the president. Allison Albro, 21, Daytona Beach, is learning that the hard way. She posted this last night and got a visit from the
@VolusiaSheriff Domestic Security Unit and the
@SecretService. She said she was joking with this…

We are not going to tolerate threats to assassinate the president. Allison Albro, 21, Daytona Beach, is learning that the hard way. She posted this last night and got a visit from the @VolusiaSheriff Domestic Security Unit and the @SecretService. She said she was joking with this post, she doesn’t have access to a Glock or any other weapon, and she would never hurt anyone. Today she’s sitting in jail on charges of written threats to kill and unlawful use of a communications device. I would strongly advise anyone else thinking of posting a “joke” along these lines to think twice. VSO continues to work hand in hand with the Secret Service, FBI and all our law enforcement partners to ensure this presidential visit to Daytona Beach is a safe event for all who attend, and for our whole community.
Albro claims that she did not intend the social media post as a serious threat against President Trump’s life.
Rather, she was only joking.
But, that didn’t stop deputies from taking her into custody.
From
Fox 35 Orlando:
When deputies arrived at Albro’s house, she noted that she was “emotionally upset” and “stated she knew why law enforcement was there,” according to the arrest report.
Albro reportedly told deputies that her post was “obviously a joke,” that she did not own a Glock and does not like guns, and that she would never hurt someone, the report said. She admitted to not liking the president.
She told deputies that her mom told her to take the post down after warning her that she could be arrested for it, the report said. Deputies searched her home and found no weapons inside.
She was arrested and booked into jail on charges of written threats to kill or do bodily injury and unlawful use of a communication device, the sheriff’s office said.
Let this be a warning to any other liberal jokesters who think it’s a good idea to threaten violence against President Trump, his allies, or supporters.
In today’s political environment, anyone who makes such threats — whether they mean them or not — will be held accountable.
And, that’s especially true in the great state of Florida!
Take a look at some of these responses from patriots on X:
@SheriffChitwood @Driesen123 @VolusiaSheriff @SecretService I love the quick turnaround! Nice work, Law Enforcement!

@SheriffChitwood @VolusiaSheriff @SecretService It is truly sad what people are willing to do or say to become popular or even noticed. Just devastatingly sad. She needs Jesus more than anything.
