Sorry Catholics, but we have to discuss something….
And that “something” is your wildly heretical and extra-Biblical concept you created out of whole-cloth called Purgatory.
If you’re like me, you might have thought “Purgatory” is just this cosmic waiting room, where you go after you die and then eventually the verdict comes in on whether you go UP or DOWN.
But that’s not what Catholics believe at all. Not even close.
First of all, they believe ONLY the “saved” people go there.
If your going to Hell, you never go to Purgatory at all, no chance.
Second, it’s not really a waiting room, it’s actually a giant lake of fire that you sit in and burn.
I realize that sounds pretty much equivalent to Hell, but just set that aside for a moment.
I’m telling you the truth, and I’ll prove it to you in one moment.
So why do you need to go burn in a lake of fire after you die if you’re already “saved” by Jesus?
Well, basically, because Catholics don’t believe Jesus can actually purify you. He needs some help.
He needs you to go burn in a lake of fire for an indeterminate amount of time, and then if you’re lucky and if enough people on the Earth pray for you, then eventually you can leave the lake of fire and enter Heaven.
Yes folks, that’s what the Catholics actually believe!
I’m not mocking them, I’m not exaggerating anything….I am simply accurately summarizing their extra-Biblical concept of Purgatory.
