Ex-NBA Player Rejects ‘Fake News’ That He’s Not Eligible For WNBA Draft

Much to the chagrin of ultra-woke WNBA officials, there’s growing interest among former NBA players who now see a clear path to expose the absurdity of leftist opinions regarding trans athletes.

One ex-pro, Enes Kanter Freedom, is sticking to his plan to enter the WNBA draft even after reports that the league shut him down.

According to the New York Post:

On Monday, several outlets reported that the ex-NBA center would not be allowed into the league’s draft — with one source telling Front Office Sports that the WNBA is “not going to give oxygen to efforts designed to mock the league or use this topic to demean and marginalize others.”

But Freedom told The Post’s Stefan Bondy that nobody from the league had informed him of any ineligibility.

“I haven’t heard anything from the WNBA officials yet,” he said. “Fake News!”

Freedom and Royce White, a 2012 first-round pick by the NBA’s Rockets, declared themselves women and eligible for the WNBA draft amid the ongoing debate surrounding transgender athletes being allowed to compete in girls’ and women’s sports.

A league source described Freedom and White’s declarations as “simply publicity stunts” to FOS.

The narrative has fueled plenty of social media discussion:

I see all these transphobes saying she isnt on hormones or had surgery.. what she decides with her doctor is none of their business! Her body her choice!!!!

Freedom also outlined his experience wearing a pro-woman T-shirt at a recent WNBA game:

I just got kicked out of a @WNBA game for supporting WOMEN!

Let that sink in, AMERICA!

CBS News added these details:

Former NBA center Enes Kanter Freedom was ejected from Sunday night’s Indiana-Chicago WNBA game after he was confronted by Sky guard Natasha Cloud late in the third quarter.

Freedom was sitting along the baseline. He had on a black shirt that read “WOMAN noun. adult human female.”

The Fever called for a timeout after Cloud scored inside with 1:22 left in the third. Cloud then did a chest bump with teammate Aicha Coulibaly before turning around and walking in Kanter’s direction.

Cloud, 34, started yelling and pointing at Kanter, 34, as she approached him. Video showed a standing Kanter holding his arms out and taking one step on the court as security and a handful of Sky players moved in between the two.

Here’s some additional coverage:
