BREAKING: FBI and Federal Agents Sweep Across New York City in Coordinated Raids—Here’s What They’re Targeting

Federal agents fanned out across New York City on Tuesday morning in a sweeping, coordinated law-enforcement operation spanning multiple boroughs.

The FBI’s New York office confirmed that it and partner agencies were conducting activity in Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and other city locations in connection with ongoing federal investigations.

Now the focus is coming into view: Federal sources say the operations concern alleged healthcare fraud. Authorities, however, have not publicly named defendants, announced arrests or released charges tied to Tuesday’s activity.

DESPITE Kathy Hochul trying to shield these people.

I can’t WAIT to hear who runs these “centers”

Keep raiding, FBI!

That post captures the public demand for answers, but its claim that Governor Kathy Hochul tried to shield the people involved is commentary—not a confirmed fact about Tuesday’s targets.

The public record is still limited, and accountability requires getting the facts right. No one connected to these locations should be labeled guilty unless and until the government presents evidence and proves its case.

According to CBS New York, video from a storefront near Eighth Avenue and 41st Street in Brooklyn showed at least eight law-enforcement personnel, including agents wearing HSI jackets. A law-enforcement source also confirmed activity at another location near Fort Hamilton Parkway and 51st Street in Borough Park.

The visible presence of Homeland Security Investigations adds another federal component to an already substantial operation. But officials have not yet disclosed the exact role of each participating agency or identified every location being searched.

Footage from Flushing offered another glimpse of the multi-borough activity. It did not, by itself, establish what occurred inside the building, who may be under investigation or whether that particular location will produce charges.

VINnews reported that criminal search warrants were being executed and relayed the FBI’s statement that multiple agencies were operating across Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and elsewhere in the city as part of ongoing federal investigations. Details remained scarce as the operation unfolded.

That distinction matters. Search warrants mean investigators persuaded a judge that there was probable cause to search specified places for evidence; they are not convictions, and they do not establish that every person or business encountered committed a crime.

Still, taxpayers have every right to demand aggressive scrutiny when federal healthcare dollars may be at risk. Fraud in publicly funded programs drains government accounts, steals resources from patients, burdens honest providers and forces working Americans to pay for corruption they never approved.

New York is already locked in a major Medicaid dispute with the federal government. In June, the Department of Justice filed a civil suit against the New York Department of Health, state Medicaid Director Amir Bassiri and Public Partnerships LLC over alleged fraud involving the state’s $10 billion Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program.

The complaint centered on the administration of that program and the process used to select Public Partnerships LLC. DOJ alleged that the arrangement involved a sham bidding process, unauthorized profits and misleading statements.

Those assertions remain allegations in a civil lawsuit, not proven findings of wrongdoing. The June filing provides context for the federal government’s wider concern about fraud involving healthcare funds in New York, but it is a separate public matter.

The government has not announced a judgment in that civil case or identified it as the basis for Tuesday’s searches. There is no public evidence currently linking Tuesday’s locations, businesses or potential targets to the CDPAP lawsuit.

Readers should therefore treat the case as background on the broader enforcement environment, not as proof of who or what federal agents were investigating this week.

The broader enforcement environment is unmistakable. Just one week after filing the New York civil suit, the Department of Justice announced a nationwide healthcare-fraud takedown involving 455 charged defendants, including 90 medical professionals, and more than $6.5 billion in alleged fraud.

Those numbers show why investigators are treating healthcare fraud as a national priority. Tuesday’s operation must be judged on its own facts, while the nationwide takedown provides important context for the scale of federal anti-fraud efforts now underway.

FBI and NYPD Carry Out Search Warrants Across Brooklyn

A multi-agency law enforcement operation is underway at several locations in Brooklyn, with federal agents and NYPD officers executing criminal search warrants. The FBI confirms operations are taking place across Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island.

Federal sources told CBS News the warrants are related to an alleged healthcare fraud investigation. Authorities have not announced any arrests, and details about the investigation remain limited.

For now, the responsible conclusion is straightforward: A serious federal operation is underway, alleged healthcare fraud is the reported focus, and the government has not yet revealed whom it believes broke the law—or precisely what evidence agents were seeking at each location.

New Yorkers deserve the full story when prosecutors are ready to present it. If public money was abused, those responsible should face lawful consequences, regardless of their political connections, professional titles or influence.

And if elected officials or state agencies failed to protect taxpayers, that record deserves the same unflinching scrutiny. Accountability cannot stop at the front door of a searched business; it must follow the evidence wherever it leads.

Until authorities release charges, warrants or additional findings, caution is required. But so is vigilance—because the public should never accept a system in which billions of healthcare dollars can disappear behind bureaucracy while families struggle to afford care.
