Former ‘American Idol’ contestant Caleb Flynn has been convicted of murdering his wife in their Ohio home back in February.
On Tuesday, a jury found Flynn guilty on all counts after he shot his wife Ashley in the back of the head in order to be with his younger mistress while their two daughters slept in their beds nearby.
After carrying out the cold-blooded murder, Flynn staged a break-in and told authorities that a burglar had killed his wife.
But, the truth came out in the end, and now, Flynn is facing the swift hammer of justice.

Flynn’s sentencing will take place in October.
He will likely be going to jail for the rest of his life.
Fox News has more on the charges:
Flynn faced nine charges: one count of aggravated murder, three counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault and three counts of tampering with evidence involving the missing firearm, the side garage door and emails. Jurors also considered firearm specifications attached to several charges.
Flynn broke down as the guilty counts came one after another, visibly shaking and wiping tears from his face. He repeatedly dropped his head toward the defense table, his eyes red and tear-filled when he looked back up.
Sentencing is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Oct. 5.
Flynn’s lead attorney, Patrick Mulligan, said after the verdict that he expects the conviction to be appealed.
“While we respect the system, certainly, we’re disappointed,” Mulligan told reporters. “I fully anticipate that there will be a notice of appeal filed, and this decision will be tested thoroughly in the Court of Appeals.”
Mulligan said Flynn faces possible sentences on the aggravated murder conviction ranging from 20 years to life, to life without parole, with an additional three years tied to the firearm specification. He said the first six counts will merge for sentencing.
After the judge read out the verdict in court on Tuesday, Flynn broke down in tears and started sobbing.

Flynn, 40, was found guilty on all counts of murdering his wife, Ashley, so he could pursue an extramarital affair.
Flynn claimed someone broke into his home and shot his wife in the head; however, investigators say Flynn staged the entire incident.
He will be sentenced on October 5.
Despite Flynn’s attempts to cover up his horrific crime, authorities became suspicious when they could not find the gun that an alleged burglar used to shoot Ashley.
Yet, Flynn’s own gun was mysteriously missing.
Investigators then uncovered thousands of text messages sent between Flynn and his 22-year-old mistress in which he discussed plans to murder his wife so he could be “free.”
The New York Post has more details on the disturbing case:
Flynn staged the crime scene to make it look like a home invader broke into the couple’s house, and shot his 37-year-old wife while he and his two daughters were asleep, prosecutors argued in court.
Ashley was shot with a 9mm pistol, but the murder weapon was never recovered. Meanwhile, Flynn’s own 9mm pistol was missing from his truck, where he normally kept it.
Flynn hatched the horrific scheme after a yearslong affair with with Alleigha Botner, 24, whom he met in 2022 while she was a 20-year-old intern at the church where he served as a music pastor, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors unveiled a trove of more than 100,000 text messages between the lovers. Botner was forced to read messages in court in which Flynn told her he wanted his wife dead and was pondering how to get away with killing her.
Hours before the murder, Flynn allegedly texted her: “I choose you. I’m free. Actions will come tomorrow.”
After hearing these texts read aloud in court by the mistress, it only took the jury two hours to return a guilty verdict.

Along with appearing on the singing competition show American Idol, Flynn was a former church worship pastor.
During his time on the show, he often spoke about how much he loved his wife Ashley, who was a schoolteacher and volleyball coach.
After the trial ended today, Miami County Prosecutor Paul Watkins read a statement from Ashley’s family.

Following the proceedings, Miami County Prosecuting Attorney Paul Watkins read from a statement released by Ashley’s family, who said the verdict brings “justice and accountability.”
“However,” he continued, reading from the statement, “no verdict can bring Ashley back, give the girls back their mother, or erase the pain our family has endured. The cruelty of what happened to Ashley, and the things we’ve been forced to hear and relive, have at times felt unbearable…”
Ashley’s family said she lived a virtuous life.
“She loved being a mom,” Watkins said, still reading from the family statement. “She prayed over her girls, taught them to love God and showed them what it looked like to live with faith, kindness, joy and grace. We refuse to let the evil that ended Ashley’s life have the final word in her story.”
Watkins praised law enforcement and prosecutors for their success in prosecuting the case. He said he is tired of talking about Flynn and wants renewed focus on the victim.
“This world would be a much better place if all of us in it lived like Ashley,” he said.
